Title
the Senegalese Economy
Subject
Economy of Senegal
Description
The influence of French colonialism still endures in Senegal. When Senegal was a colony of France, the colonists decided that Senegal would focus on agriculturalism in order to further the French mercantilist policy. Thus, due to the French colonial influence, he Senegalese economy is still largely agriculture-based, and it is far less industrialized than many other countries. Furthermore, the Senegalese state does not fund scientific research, further inhibiting modernization.
